Shopping for someone who orders the reposado, not the house pour? Who has opinions about salt rims? Who thinks Taco Tuesday is a holiday? This is the list. Everything below comes from Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar — 11 locations across Florida, Long Island and the Boston area — and most of it fits in an envelope.
The Gift Card (With a Holiday Bonus)
The easy one, and this time of year the smart one. From November 1 through January 1, every $50 in Rocco’s gift cards you buy earns a $10 bonus gift certificate. Buy $100, get $20 back. Gift cards never expire, have no fees, and work at every location on food and drinks — brunch, happy hour and Taco Tuesday included.
Order online or pick one up at any Rocco’s. Cards ordered online ship standard USPS in 7–10 days, so for December, order early. (Gift cards need 24 hours to activate and can’t be used the same day.)
For the Tequila Lover: A Flight
Rocco’s carries 150+ tequilas, and the fastest way to taste through them is a flight: three 1-oz pours built around a style. Blanco for the purist, Reposado for oak and vanilla, Añejo for the sipper, a Reserves flight for the person who already knows what Cincoro is, and a Mezcal flight for the smoke fan. Tequila flights are on the menu at our Florida locations.
Pair a gift card with a note that says “Reserves flight, my treat” and you’ve given an experience, not a card.
For the Margarita Lover
The house margarita comes in mango, passion fruit, pomegranate, prickly pear or strawberry; the Rocco Rita is the upgrade; and the Rocco Mango is, by the menu’s own admission, the strongest drink on the list. A gift card covers any of them — or a pitcher for the table, if they’re sharing.
For the Cook: Rocco’s Spice
The seasoning on our chips and in our guacamole, in a bottle — salt, chili pepper, cumin, paprika, cayenne, thyme, coriander, Mexican oregano. Sprinkle it on chicken, fish, steak or vegetables. It’s buy one, get one in the online store ($12.39 for two bottles), so it’s a two-gift purchase.
For the Whole Crew
Some gifts are a table. Book a holiday party — company, team or family — at any location, or have Rocco’s cater the office party and skip the cooking entirely.
